About

I am an assistant professor of veterinary business and economics at Cornell University's Center for Veterinary Business and Entrepreneurship. I hold appointments in the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management within the SC Johnson College of Business

My research focuses on the economic issues related to animal health. Using tools from resource and agricultural economics, I evaluate the impacts of animal diseases and other pests on the food supply chain and develop forecasts of consumer markets.

My ongoing work includes developing statistical learning to detect and include important information when selecting simple but well-performing forecasting models. I then modify these tools to suit sectors particularly sensitive to environmental shocks, such as fisheries and livestock production.

Other ongoing projects evaluate externalities from agricultural production and trade associated with pests and pathogens.
